Online Marketing feature the cover story in Golf Business News magazine -
Jul 05, 2008
The latest contribution by PBM principle Matthew Pitt to Golf Business News (GBN) is this month's cover story - a feature piece on online marketing in the golf industry and how golf clubs can utilise online tools to meet their business needs:
Golf has been shaped by 500 years of history. The great traditions of the game form the bedrock on which it is built. But the world around the game is changing faster than ever before. The online revolution has transformed the way we communicate and operate. Its influence in the golf industry is already tangible with the development of the web-based GOLF Link system, online tee time bookings and the rapid growth of online sales of golf accessories changing the way many golfers shop for equipment. Read the article here.
Matt is the Victorian correspondent for Golf Business News (GBN), a national monthly publication with news and information for the golf industry. PBM interviews Melbourne GM of the world famous Nobu restaurant group -
Dec 21, 2007
Pitt-Bull Media has been working to develop case studies with the clients of Macro Solutions, detailing their Point of Sale (POS) technologies. Macro Solutions designs and implements customised POS solutions in a range of hospitality environments for clients around Australia. Last month we interviewed Ben Jager, General Manager of Nobu Melbourne, for the first of a series of client case studies for Macro Solutions.
The world-renowned Nobu restaurant group formed in the early 1990s after New Yorker Robert De Niro became intrigued with the distinctive cuisine of Los Angeles chef Nobu Matsuhisa. After training in Japan, Matsuhisa relocated to Peru and developed a unique style combining Japanese cuisine with South American influences. Later, he settled in LA where De Niro was a frequent customer at his restaurant. The two men became friends and decided to form a partnership and open a second restaurant in New York.
Nobu Melbourne, opened this year in partnership with James Packer at the Crown complex, is the 18th restaurant in the Japanese food empire that is regarded by many as the world's most iconic and influential restaurant group. De Niro visited for the opening in July and the accompanying publicity has drawn thousands of patrons in the months since. Ben Jager chose Macro Solutions as their technology partner to design, implement and manage the systems that are so critical to the Nobu business model.
Pitt-Bull Media assists with new book 'Golf Excellence' published by Fairfax -
Aug 31, 2007
This month, Fairfax has published a new golf instruction book, Golf Excellence, by Dominic Wall. Pitt-Bull Media (PBM) is proud to have been involved in the project and is grateful for the acknowledgement from Dominic for some assistance with the text. Golf Excellence draws on Dominic's many years of experience with the AGU and Golf Australia and his work establishing Australia's elite golf development programs.

The book poses the question, “What does it take to become a champion golfer?” and then clearly explains the skills, process, KPIs and training regimes required to achieve the standards needed to succeed at the professional level. It covers all aspects of elite development from mental and physical preparation, tour planning, sponsors, caddies and on-course strategies and it provides practical information on state, national and international tournaments and programs.
While not a formal golf instruction manual, Golf Excellence does include tips from some of Australia’s leading coaches, sports science experts, sport psychologists and the key people behind the scenes at the Australian Institute of Sport Golf Program, including Mark Holland, John Crampton and Ramsay McMaster. The book also contains a number of insights, anecdotes and training ideas from some of the best young golfers Australia has produced over the last decade, including Robert Allenby, Lindsey Wright and Aaron Baddeley.

We should note that Golf Excellence is not only for players aspiring to compete on the world stage.
